Where psychotherapy meets fitness

Welcome

About me...

Hi, I'm Talisa and I am passionate about supporting women in becoming the best versions of themselves. I know first-hand how difficult it can be to find the time and motivation to focus on fitness and personal goals, especially when life gets busy. As a full-time working, single mom, I’ve faced these challenges too. Sometimes, we just need that little bit of encouragement to remind ourselves that we are capable of achieving everything we desire.

As a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist (CBT) and a Personal Trainer (PT), I offer both CBT sessions, and ladies-only personal training sessions and group fitness classes, with a trauma-focused approach, understanding that everyone’s journey is different. I bring both professional knowledge and personal lived experience of trauma, and I’m committed to creating a safe and supportive space for healing, growth, and empowerment.

I specialise in supporting mental health challenges, including:

  • Depression
  • Low self-esteem
  • Anxiety disorders (including Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety, Phobias, OCD)
  • Body Dysmorphia
  • PTSD (including Complex Trauma)
  • Trauma recovery

I approach all my work from a culturally sensitive and inclusive perspective. I have a particular passion for empowering black and brown women, in a way that truly honours their lived experience, but my practice is open to women, and men, of all backgrounds.

Here’s a snapshot of my qualifications and experience:

  • PgDip Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy
  • CBT Clinical Supervisor
  • BSc Human Psychology
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse
  • Level 2 & 3 Personal Trainer
  • Counselling Skills level 2
  • Certified in Solution-Focused (Brief) Therapy
  • Family Behavioural Therapy Specialist
  • Yoga Practitioner

My ToTaliFit journey kicked off in 2020, during the lockdown, when I decided to offer online fitness classes to help keep women’s minds and bodies active. What started as a lockdown initiative soon blossomed into ToTaliFit LTD, and here we are today!

I now offer four dynamic group fitness classes a week, including:

  • Bashment BoxFit – Get your sweat on with a mix of boxing and high-energy music
  • ToTaliFit HIIT – High-Intensity Interval Training to push your limits
  • Lift Weights, Lift Mood – Strength training that lifts both your body and spirits

Over the past five years, I’ve had the privilege of helping hundreds of women smash their fitness and personal well-being goals, whether that’s:

  • Weight loss
  • Strength gains
  • Confidence boosts
  • A complete lifestyle transformation

My Experience...

With a unique blend of lived experience, training, and dedication, I’m confident I can help you achieve the results you want, whilst ensuring you feel empowered, confident, and supported every step of the way.

Over the past 10+ years, I’ve worked across a range of settings both in and outside of the NHS, including:

  • Acute and secure psychiatric units (including PICUs)
  • Community crisis teams
  • Early intervention services for first episode psychosis
  • CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services)
  • University mental health services
  • Community Talking Therapy Services (IAPT)
  • Private practice

I have extensive experience working with a wide variety of mental health conditions, including:

  • Psychosis and schizophrenia
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Eating disorders
  • Personality disorders and complex trauma
  • Debilitating Anxiety disorders
  • Chronic depression

I also have significant experience supporting neurodivergent clients, tailoring my approach to their unique needs and strengths.

I’m passionate about supporting every woman in her unique journey, making fitness and mental well-being, not just a workout, but a way of life. Let’s work together to create a plan that is tailored to you—no matter where you are on your mental health and/or fitness journey. Let’s do this!

Did I also mention that I am a published author?

'When mommy's feeling sad...' was written as a way of introducing the issue of depression to a younger audience, with the hope of initiating a discussion around the subject, and highlighting the importance of talking about, and sharing our feelings. The stigma surrounding mental health is still very real and the best way to eradicate this, is to educate our children with openness and honesty.

I’m interested!
